As an accident of history, I have 2 navman plotters which are linked to one aerial, good practice would indicate that they should be capable of operating independently.

A new Navman/Northstar mushroom would cost about £120:(.

A google search came up with this;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-5-5mm-SMA...oftware_ET?hash=item2a064daf47#ht_2081wt_1000

Ridiculous, can't work at that price, however at under £6 inc P&P worth a punt. Arrived in quicktime and I plugged it in today.

Perfect, quick fix, exactly the same as the other unit. moving it around below I got good reception everywhere.

So accepting that you don't actually need to mount an aerial outside, just the ticket as spare or principal aerial.

I'm fairly certain it would work on other plotters as well.

What A Bargain Price

Vara, thanks for sharing this. I bought the Northstar at the beginning of the year. It will now be put back in its box and I'll use this one. What a price!
