Just a note to say thanks to Spannerman for his method. For those not in the know, it involves taking off the top of the draive rather than the whole leg.

A whole lot easier and quicker especially with no helpers.

But one thing that would have made it a real doddle.... Are there any tips as to how to line up the input shaft splines?

Took a long time and a whole Pauline to get one in.
 
Yep there's a real knack to that, first one I struggled for ages, second one straight on. I think it would be easier to attach the bellows to the gearcase first and not the transom, but then its harder to do up the back circlip up, dunno..
