I haven't been on the forum for a couple of weeks, but did a search on Spanner and nothing came up. Apologies if this has already been posted.

Sorry to say that Spanner had a heart attack and passed away last week. He was doing some work for Doug & Karen (ex landlords of the Coal Exchange in Emsworth), and Doug came back to discover him unconscious. Spanner was one of the forumites who made the trip to Cherbourg on Ian Grant's HR42.

May the good man rest in peace

Blimey Tom, that's a bit of a shock! I enjoyed his company in Cherbourg, and he struck me as a happy-go-lucky guy who enjoyed life, and it is sad that it has been cut short.

Good to see you are back - hope you enjoyed your Christmas cruise.

We'll miss Spanner.

I'll always remember Ken's exclamation: "Cor that Spanner lad can put it away"

Bless Spanner, he's off the the never ending beer festival..

I asked him why are you called Spanner once.. He replied: "'Cause I'm a tool"

A sad start to the year. I'm sure he will be remembered with affection by all those on the fourm, and especially those on the Cherbourg adventure.
