We'll post short reports to this thread....

Left Sante Carles at 8am this morning, slight seas but a bit cloudy (whilst the UK had wonderful sunshine we gather!). The sea flattened, the sun came out, things were looking good. Bit of rain as we closed on Minorca - then GSkip came out to meet us. We went passed Isla del Aire and into Mahon.

Wish I was there /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looking forward to your updates

Well done Rick, that was quick and nice pics too!

Weather in UK South not that good, bright on Sunday but easterly F5-6 in the morning and didn't drop until 18:00 when it veered to SWest.

Looking forward to hearing more, keep 'em coming.

Departing the fuel bay and ready for departure Tunis then Malta.

It's been great meeting you all and hope to see you back on the island soon. Safe onward trip GSkip

(Some great shots Gskip, I like the last one!)

Yep woke up this morning to see Mike already on the fuel bay which is under my apartment. went down to meet them with my morning mug of coffee. They left the fuel bay bound for the lagoon at La'Mola to anchor for brunch before setting off for tunisia. Forcast looks good for them.

Thanks for the updates RickP and GSkip.

All looking lovely. Boat looks great in the pics. On my weather thingy (I'm trying that paid-for theyr.net service, dunno if any good yet) the winds look good for the current (Tunisia) leg - winds on your port quarter or astern, pushing you there and saving fuel :-)

Look forward to next update. Bon voyage!

I think Mike has friends in very high places!

Trip from UK to Sant Carles last year in record time, now the wind at his stern on a trip where he needs to conserve fuel!

It's either very good passage planning or he has bribed the Angel-of-the-Med! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Mike threw down the gauntlet this morning he has challenged me to try and take the blue ribon from him when I bring the Pred 92s down to Mahon from Poole in May then on to Malta.
Apparantly I have to take a pic of Africa within 5 days. Maybe we should have a pint on it /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Mike, departed Mahon around noon today planning to run at displacement speed untill the morning then run on towards Tunis at day break. Here is the forcast for 11pm local so he should have the sea on his port quarter through the night and early hours. Wave height 1.5-2m

Surfing all the way!!! [image]

We decided this morning that his worse case cinario would be 20 Knots following sea, final run in the morning towards Tunisia.

Nice to see you have your priorities all sorted with the Sky TV on the fly bridge and all other gadgets to hand.
Hope you are all thinking of us at work while you are all out at play

Well done Gskip.

It really adds to the whole scene to see a picture of JW on the plane on route. We feel like we're right there too! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Excellent. If Mike had rigged up a live webcam I think I can guarantee I'd have got absolutely no work done whilst following their progress.
