I keep seeing post about Spain and how cheep/expensive it is but no prices. Can anyone tell me just how much a place for an 8meter boat would cost and for a 12 or 11.99 meter boat place per day week month and where? The more replies the better general idea!
Also how much does a coffe cost in a cafe?? and the price of a loaf of bread and one liter of uht milk!!
Is Spain really less costly than France or Italy? or the same?

finding a mooring is the hard part, coffee 1 euro normal, milk 0.7 to 1.09euros, bread 0.3 to 2 euros, piece of string how long?
free nautical paper/marina guide widely available at port offices has all local prices, re; 100 miles+ or pilot books.
ring ports usaully best advice for mooring, or best guess, Gib. Almerimar/Aquadulce(better)
good luck
Dave

As in every country, the prices in Spain vary depending on area, time of the day and the kind of cafe where you take your coffee. I usually pay appr. 1 euro for a cup of coffee in the area of La Coruña.
Milk is a similar story: The price depends on the type of milk, fat, semi -fat and skimmed, but also on the additions that nowadays are common, calcium, omega 3, vitamins etc, as well as on the store.
Normally the prices are lowest in the big supermarkets, such as Alcampo and Carrefour. In the yearly price-comparison of the spanish consumer-union the cheapest prices are found in Mercadona, strong on the coast of the Med, and in Lidl. The last one is very cheap indeed, but has a rather limited assortment of products and mostly unknown brands, but I find them of reasanble or good quality. I like their beer, brand-called Grafenwalder. They have another brand that is cheaper, but I do'n like it much.
In my opinion Spain is cheap, cheaper than France and Italy, although I have only limited information, since I don't come regularly in these countries, while I live in Spain. The problem for a foreigner in Spain is usually to find the cheap places, where one can eat cheaply. It is still possible to have a three-course midday meal for appr. 8 euros, including wine, or a beer or water.
If you have any specific questions questions, send me a message and I'll try to answer them. Realise that I live near La Coruña, so most of my informstion is based upon that area.
Henk.

I added this question while useing an expensive connection! How long is a piece of string, indeed!
The price of the place, thats clear, though im interested in the daily;weekly charge, im sure most will want to know the rate P.A.
The charges listed so for are both more and less as France, and always less than Italy.
In France there are no yearly places left! And daily places are difficult. In France a place for the day from april to oct costs for an 8m boat 15 to 25 euros PD most ports charge 18 euros inc water and elec.
In Italy its about 30 to 40+ euros per night! or free for 2 to 5 days when theres room.

Milk in France costs 55cents (min) and providing one liter bricks are bought cost up to 80cents a liter, half or quarter liter packages can cost up to 7 euros p/liter!!!

Bread, a baggett 60cents a large bread un panne 1 euro brown bread about 1.30/1.60 per loaf (12inches by 7inch!)
Coffee costs 1 euro and a beir 25cl 1.50 euros almost every where

Its interesting,as Italy has gone off the scale with prices since the Euro, and even 6 years ago a large company from Naples was buying every port yard they could-now it to expensive to go there in my opinion. When my new boat is ready (a folkboat ca'1950 almost bought)i would like to turn right at port st loise and head for Spain again, but this time spend a few months there.

Now im going to look at a map to see just where Alerimar and Torrevieja are!And hopefully someone from Gib will provide a price for there?

Thanky for the replys so far really great.
