Popped into a new marina yesterday; give it the once over and look at facilities - and yes they have vacancies.

Gets the price list and it's 7% IVA for private boats and 16% IVA for commercial.

Anybody out there only paying 7%??

Anybody out there know more about this differential???.

Probably because it's a new business, after 12 months it will rate as established and pay the normal rate.

Spain applies a standard rate of VAT of 16% for most goods and services.

A reduced rate of 7% is applicable for certain goods and services, e.g. if you buy a newly built property from a developer, travelers transport services, etc.

A super-reduced rate of 4% is applicable for goods and services considered as basic necessities; e.g. bread, eggs, cheese (essential food), newspapers and magazines, etc.
