I bought some SP Epoxy at a boat jumble last year. The pumps from the West system containers I have do not fit. Would I be OK to empty the containers and use them for the SP resin and hardenner. (Making sure I use the correct containers).

SP ratio is 5:1 by volume I have yet to check West.

Mixing small ammounts what is the best way? syringe or scales?

WEST is 5:1 [for their standard 105/205 epoxy].

I use some electronic scales for measuring small quantities. I think they cost about £30 and have probably paid for themselves by the reduction in waste. If you buy some that will slip into a freezer bag you can avoid getting epoxy on them.

As regards transferring SP into WEST containers, if it was me, I would check with the makers. It's probably ok to do but epoxy is so expensive you don't want to waste any; and the labour involved in re-doing the job if it goes wrong has to be borne in mind.

You would be best wash out west containers with acetone and let it dry out before decanting, that way there wont be any cross contamination, and they will be ok for using.
Mind the pumps are calibrated, so 1 stroke of each!
Also the warmer the resin/hardner when decanting the less will remain in the containers.
