Southend Airport. Car Parking.

Probably one of the more accessible regional airports at which to park. Pre-book and you can take a space about 50m from the terminal entrance. Plus, the Arrivals area has been refurbished within the last 2 years and is a much more user friendly space.

However.

Road access is dire. The A13 to and from can be coronary inducing: the merest hint of a delay (weight of traffic, failed lights, an RTC, etc) will have you quickly speaking fluent Industrial English, as you watch the minutes tick by to 'Final Boarding Call'.

Plan the road move well ahead *grins*

Will def pre book, just want best deal for on site, been the victim of too many off site mud and rubble bombsites with 30 mins wait and 30 mins transit for the next bus at 1am in the the January snow :)

Its just round the corner from me. You can still park in the road very close to the airport but if you want something more organized the only option is the onsite car park. Personally I have used 'Park at my house' before and put my car on someone's drive within walking distance of the airport.

Basically if you are happy with a 10 minute walk it's free roadside parking or someone's drive. If you want door to door it's official onsite parking only AKAIK

Last time I flew from Southend we had no need to park: we drove straight onto the aircraft and flew off on holiday.

If pigs could fly.......
Just seen pig fly past ....

The first flying pig was down on the Isle of Sheppey sometime around 1910 ?
May well have been Mr W Cody who took the first porcine passenger up for bet ?
Nope it was a Mr Brabazon.

Better to go down the A127. It will still be busy during rush hours.
