Southend Air Show

We anchor literally 20 metres outside the marked exclusion zone in Leigh Ray. The last 2 years weather has put a dampener on the display, but this year looks promising. Nothing can compare with the sight and sound of the Eurofighter heading towards the beach and then going vertical over the bow - the heat noise and vibration is unbelievable.

We aranged last year to take the kids karate teacher & family out there sun or mon & still can't believe the weather looks like being OK. Third time we have aranged this & always cancelled in the past due to weather.look forward to seeing some of you guys out there. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

So what did everybody think of the airshow, for us the boat was great & the company was good, as was the view, but it was a view of not a lot, southend airshow used to be great with concord, the Vulcan bomber & the harriers but now I thought it was most disappointing, glad we did it but I don't think we will bother again. We had a good day though but were entertained more by the kids on board than the planes.

Thought it was ok for a free airshow.
Did you notice one of the arrows disappeared?

Came across this photo that explains why.

Not as good as previous shows but the Red arrows and the typhoon made my afternoon. We were anchored just outside the exclusion zone in the channel. When we left two boats were aground. Waved to you near Garrison point - like the hat! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

At our stately speed it offers protection from that rarest of British phenomena....the sun! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
We were sat out near the barges, worth the wait for the Arrows and Typhoon.
