Has anyone any information IE contact details for deep water swing moorings in
the southampton area, needs to be close into shore and not dry out i need two meters min at LAT .

I may need somewhere for 3 or 4 months in summer 2012

other option is a mid river pontoon i guess on hamble river or similar, easy access ashore
and somewhere to leave a car / dinghy

all info gratefully received

Depending upon where you are coming from there are some swinging moorings off the Netley and Weston Sailing clubs, these may have been laid by their members, they are a bit exposed to westerly winds and the ferry and ships wash. Further up towards Southampton there is the Southampton Sailing Club who do lay their own moorings, and again are exposed to the same conditions.
Opposite is Hythe Sailing Club where they too have lots of moorings and an all tides pontoon for loading and dinghy boarding, all have carparks and dinghy stowage for members.
On the Hamble there are the Warsash/Hamble Ferry moorings contractors(Pink Boats), and Derek Munday with a few fore amd aft moorings(02380 453124)
.You could try also Mr Clive Fish on 02380 453542 who has a few but all taken at the moment.
Finally the Hamble Harbourmasters may have some vacant sub let moorings (01489 576387) for the winter maybe longer if you're lucky! Get your name on their waiting list anyway, renewal annually.

Of course most of the Clubs will require your membership .

Hope this helps

I often cut the corner through these on my way out of the Itchen. I'm not sure the OP's 2m draught would fit at low springs. The bottom I assume is mud, but it could well be quite firm - not much further inshore I was able to dry out on top of it for some (rather grubby!) propshaft fettling. I guess the club could give a definite answer.

Cracknore Hard SC moorings only have a max draft of 1m. Also a max LOA of 32ft. Marchwood Yacht Club just a little further up Southampton Water probably have the draft required on their swinging moorings but usually they have a waiting list
