Moving aside the well known expensive two that i know of are there any cheap storage places that drop the boat in for you, or any places that you can moor for a weeken or say a tenner a week in the summer season?

I know boats for some reason are expensive to store, not like my old caravan which was cheap to store, cost around 1200 quid to keep on a site all season, and about 20 quid to keep it there the of season times (not school holiday) for the week so that we had the next weekend to stay and pick it up.

There is a place for mooring just down the road from me on Cobden bridge but i dont know who owns it or how they operate in terms of mooring time, but would be ideal for weekend mooring (i dont think there is even a slipway there but may have a crane:confused:

Well given trailer sailing and dry stack costs about £2000+ for a season for a smaller craft, I doubt there is anywhere doing £10 a week for a short term mooring.
There is an open storage depot at Marchwood that might do you storage cheaply- but not on a weekly basis,I suspect- and the slip at Hythe is free, but tidal access.

Ill have to have a search around, down Lymington you can drop the boat in on a friday night and more it there for £12 for the night or the weekend, i forgot what it was.

There must be a few places around like that i would have thought, ill stop of and ask when im passing.

do let us know if you find one!

there are certainly places you can 'keep your costs down' by arriving late and leaving early but that's not the same thing.

you may also find that places that are happy for launch and moor at this time of year close up to visitors in July/August.
