Is it me or has the price gone up this year, I thought last year it was around £13 per person I have just had an email about prices and its £16 for an adult. That makes an expensive day, is it worth going??

Adult £16.00 prebook £20.00 on the door
Child ( 15 years and under) FREE with paying adult

you best get some freeeeebeeeee's then or purchase throught tesco club card @£5.50 a pop ....

well done AIDY, that's the forum sorted for tickets.. excellent advice :)

as for the fact gate prices have gone up....what do you expect nowadays... a reduction? sorry, but everything is just getting so expensive, really gets my goat. But at least AIDY has shone a light on how to beat the system!

Show tickets

If you visit our homepage www.Stormforce.biz you can link through to ticket sales with no commission. Tickets sold this month are £13, there is a £1.75 handling fee (to boat shows, not us) but the fee is per transaction not per ticket.

We have taken off the referral fee so there is really is no commission.

The price of the tickets is just the start of the rip off process. At least you can blag a ticket or 2 from an exhibitor but its the cost of the food/drink that always grates with me especially relative to its quality. Didn't somebody get food poisoning at SIBS last year?

The Food- I would like to say I am a bit of an expert on the food there....

Last year there were new caterers all round and the best was to be had at the Paella stall next to us where quite frankly at 6 pound for a HUGE tub was too cheap for an expo...I hope they are back this year as its the best food I have had at any UK show.

The food halls are better than in previous years but you will still pay upwards of £10 a head for something decent.

If you are making a day of it then pop out and over to the Taps bar (La Regata) by Red Funnel or Sushi at Zen they are by far the best two local places for a decent lunch.

We send out for Sushi or pull straws to see who is going to hike up to M&S....although this is usually given to the most junior member of staff, no point having a dog and all that.....

When I was two dates in to the current Mrs S she came down and rather foolishly and against my advice grabbed a "light" bacon roll at 1600 hours as she had not eaten. We then ate out in town where I saw the colour drain from her face and we had to leave immediately....I did feel for my bathroom at the Holiday Inn that night and I don't think the smell of my room service cheese burger helped her much either....

To add.....If you do go out you wont be allowed back in unless you have a pass..for some reason they do not operate a re entry system.

No wonder the mags cost so much when you journos lord it in luxury hotels and splash out on room service:eek: Couldn't you blag some berths on an exhibitor's boat and eat at McD's to save a bit of dosh? Haven't you heard? There's a recession on

This was some years ago....we now commute....which is a bit of a drag from Twickenham....

SWMBO is a firm believer of only trusting stuff that is deep fried at such places, hence we have mostly stuck to fish and chips, not too bad. Otherwise I'd give serious consideration to taking something from home. We have tried the fancy chef restaurants at the show a few times over the years but silly prices for mediocre grub with a designer label.

Thanks
