Sadly, I'll miss your big send-off, unless by chance, I end up there on my Day Skipper Practical, as that's when I have the course booked. If so, look out for someone bouncing a Cornish Cruising boat along somewhere, that could be me! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
All the very best bon voyage wishes to you both, and a thought (from a photo taken of a plaque in Grand Cayman by a friend recently; Aspiration written by Karen Ravn)....
"Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only as much as I dream can I be".
Is the forecast that bad? This is what I get from the met office for the SW. but of course too far away really to tell.
BTW the plan is (dangerous!) ....we will be in Fowey (weather permitting) from friday afternoon till tuesday (-ish!). I had thought saturday night for the party, but happy to see people anytime.
UK Outlook for Monday 27 Apr 2009 to Wednesday 6 May 2009:
On Monday and Tuesday it is expected to be generally unsettled with periods of rain or showers at times, perhaps with gales in the northwest. Temperatures generally near normal. The second half of the week will start unsettled with periods of rain or showers, but it is forecast to become somewhat drier and brighter in the south as pressure begins to build once more. Locally warm in the south, but still unsettled in the north. For the following weekend and the start of the next week conditions look as though they will become more settled again as a ridge of high pressure builds from the south, this giving some dry, sunny periods. Northern areas will be rather more unsettled with periods of rain or showers.
Excellent..we are in Fowey now.. arrived this evening. A rather blowey and wet sail.... (blog to follow)
Its lovely here- we are on the visitors pontoon opposite the main albert quay and have persuaded the harbour master to reserve spaces for our visitors. Pm me for mobile/ MMSI number.... or tell then you are with Wild bird of Fowey (or mention you're with Ben Connibeer's mum, they will know who we are)
