We’re having our fourth annual South West Fletcher Boat Rally over the first May bank holiday weekend. After a fantastic first year, the last two events saw a drop in numbers due to some unpredictable weather, but those who persevered had a whale of a time. And as usual this year, we’ll be praying to the weather gods again, who always seem to come up trumps.
The idea of the event is simply to meet other likeminded sports boat enthusiasts, enjoy social gatherings, and cruise in the safety of other boats while exploring the fantastic waters around South Devon. Over the years we’ve extended the event to include evening BBQ’s, cafe lunches, raffles, competitions and information talks on boat safety and maintenance.
Although we started this event with Fletcher owners in mind, we’re looking to expand the event to cover all smaller sports boats. In fact we already have a small number of non Fletcher owners attending and would welcome more.
The rally is a totally free of charge, non profit, and owner participant event. The only real cost is the pontoon hire in Brixham which is paid for by our fantastic sponsor IRCM, a well known marine insurance company, so a special thank you for making this event possible: www.marineinsurance-ircm.co.uk.
