I have installed a Lofrans X2 in the past and been happy with it but looking to fit a windlass on the Fulmar and it looks as thought the South Pacific VA 600 would be the easiest to fit. How reliable are they as against Lofrans? They are a goodly bit cheaper.

Mines around 12 years old now. It's the 1000 watt stainless model. Did have a self inflicted issue with gear box in trying to drag the anchor through the bowroller. Bent a gear shaftand stripped a few teeth. Easy to repair once I got the bits.
Apart from the self inflicted bit and a new solenoid last year it just works.

My has straight cut gears and an electric brake. I believe the new ones are a worm screw and don't have an electric brake ?
