Hello all

I will be having my summer cruise in Northern France in the first half of July. Having come all that way I would quite like to spend some time on South coast around the Solent before sailing the boat back to Essex. But, I would need to leave the boat there (on the S. coast) for a week while I go back to work before returning to explore.
The boat is a 27" bilge keeler, not suprisingly a Leisure 27. Can anyone suggest any alternatives to leaving it in what is likely to be a very expensive marina?

Thanks in advance, Brendan.

Try Gosport Boat Company, not sure of the number, swinging moorings in Portsmouth Harbour, launch service, and Portsmouth Harbour station is on the waters edge so a flexible commute.

For the Eastern Solent, there's Chichester Harbour - the Conservancy (harbour authority) has some visitors moorings which do weekly rates and are cheaper than the marinas. See their website at http://www.conservancy.co.uk/water/visitors_moorings.htm
They may also have some unallocated permanent moorings which dry - they were advertising these recently so they may be hard to let and you might get a decent deal. As a bilge keeler, you'd have no problem using those.
