So does every body use the same type and which type ,cheers SS
I use anodes direct, actually ordered from them again just a few days ago. Almost all zinc for sea use, although I believe more people are now moving to aluminium.
Yep. I have made that transition and can confirm they work longer and better but apart from the out drive ring anode you cant buy them as a kit so you do have to cut the bar type to shape in order to fit the rest of the outdrive assembly. Very pleased with the added longevity too. No more mid season beaching to change anodes. (I berth opposite a 60 foot steel Dutch trawler and I'm sure he aggravated my anode wear)
I’m certainly no expert, but does increased longevity mean that what you’re trying to protect is more likely to corrode?
Solent Anodes sell kits for outdrives including the bar anodes for 290dp-e and others. Reasonably priced too.....apart from the out drive ring anode you cant buy them as a kit so you do have to cut the bar type to shape in order to fit the rest of the outdrive assembly.)
