Sourcing stanchion post bits

Any idea on where I can source those little plastic 'cylinders' that go through the hole half way down the stanchion post which take the lower guardrail wire.? Or what might be used for DIY version. Main reason is that my stanchion posts are welded to deck and water gets in them holes....any other ideas for sealing would also be welcome. I know its a design fault....but want to make best of it not replace....

Assuming you have 1" diameter stanchions with 1/2" diameter holes.

Buy sufficient 1/2" diameter s/s tube. If you have a lathe, part off sufficient pieces of tube, 1-1/8" long. Otherwise saw them and file the ends square. Remove burrs. Place piece of tube in the stanchion with a steel ball of 1/2" - 5/8" diameter on each end of the tube. Squeeze in a vice so that the ends of the 1/2" tube bell out slightly and just enough to fix them in place without them being able to rattle. Job done!

you could try using the plastic inserts that fit into the plasitc pipe used with Speedfit plastic plumbing fittings, you can get them at B&Q etc

Why not, use compressed air to dry out the insides, then heat some marine grease or wax and fill the cavity. After setting again will not likely rust for a while.

Or! drill a wee hole in bottom of stanchion and let the water drain out.

Or! drop a wick down inside and longer on the outside and wet will syphon itself out.
