Trying to locate a supplier of small electrical connectors.
I am fitting the 7 day timer to a D2 Eberspacher I want to keep the proper eber connector block but need to add a cable to the out let side of this (there is the correct cable and male terminal on the eber side) The terminal is about 15mm long x2mm wide and is fixed by crimping. The jaws are more like crocodile jaws rather the standard auto connecters with rolled edges.
I have tried Maplins and google without success so once again I appeal to our experts!!
Regards to all.

Why not just patch in on the harness side, rather on the timer side of the connector block? This will retain integrity of timer/connector.

You may have difficulty in tracking down the Ebber components as they are I believe exclusive to Ebber. However you should not be put off - just make sure you connect the right wires togeather or chop the cable in the middle and connect all the colours up to eachother with computer paralel cable and connectors.

Are you extending the 'Wiring Loom' to the control box (on older models) or from the loom to the heater controls? There are wiring diagrams available in the manuals and someone in here probably has a link to an online version.

Thanks guys.
I cant believe that the actual connecter 'spade' is an eber exclusive ( or can I??) although I guess that the block may be.

This is the 16 pin connector about 12" from the heater. There is a lead from the heater to the connector (male side) but no corresponding terminal on the female side. Yes I could chop the cable before the connector but thought that it would look a mess.
Thanks again guys.

The 7-day timer normally connects to the switch harness on the main loom. Wouldn't it be easier to do that? Or maybe you don't have the loom?

if anyone's got a link to a pic of one of the terminals? I have a bunch of specialist connector catalogues. From memory, my eber ones aren't esp unusual, but....

one problem can be minimum order quantities... but I'll look.

Thanks for the responses especially as it is such a silly little item! I am going to learn the photo posting method ( when I find my camera)
yes I have the loom but there is no terminal or lead to connect to the connector ( this is a brown and white lead which connects the timer and should go to terminal 6 on the main heater connector block)
As a short term solution I have found a lead (wrong colour) with one of those connectors on it so I will use that but would still like to find a source for future ( maybee Sarkblue will come up with the goods.
Thanks all again!!

Are you saying there is a terminal block with a hole in it but there is no female connector in the hole?

I rewired my Eberspacher connecting blocks as I needed longer wires on the one to the control switch. You can get the connectors that go in the blocks, both male and female, and you crimp your wire to them before you insert them in the block.

I should have female connectors somewhere if that is what you want.

If memory serves, the block is a Hella component as it is the same for Webasto timers too.
You will need a pin extractor as well. I cut the plug off altogether, and put on a male/female MIL Spec waterproof connector on mine, but I had a guy at work do it, as he had the pin tool.

Mr Cramp, thats it!! they are little jobbies with jaws!! If you find any I would be most grateful. It seems that the basic Eber has all the leads going to the main block but then the other side of the block is configured depending on the timers/switches etc in the final configuration. Mine was not set up with the 7 day timer so the cable was not there on the female side. I note also that, if I want to use my timer for Resetting following lock out, I will have to provide another lead on the female side ( to the pink lead from the heater)
I will also look for the terminals on the suggested site.
Again, many thanks
Peter

I fitted my Eberspacer 4 years ago and when I read this topic last night I knew I had some suitable connectors.

This morning I now remember that I went to my local commercial vehicle electrics installer/repairer who is an Eberspacer, Lucas and Crossland filter stockist . They sold me the female connector block inserts.

They are Durite (Gordon Equipment Ltd), part 0-011-23, 6.30mm Push-On, QTY 50 (guess 50 in the box) 171096.

If you PM me you address pcatterall I will put some in the post.
