Fuel fitting (1).jpg

This is the top of my CAV filter on my 4108.
I need to source the correct female fitting for the return flow.
It is 7/16th and a fine thread ( UNF I guess?)
It would seem a simple item to locate but 90% of the stuff I find is metric. I have checked for fittings on filter specialists and general dealers like BES but have had no luck.
I guess that I could change the banjo fitting for a metric one but that has knock on effects on the run off pipe etc.
Any advice please?

Have you considered 1/8bsp - quite common on leak off pipes & oil pressure lines.1/8 bsp is .383 od & 28tpi.Was your 7/16" accurate?

Is this filter before the lift pump of after the lift pump. If its before (suction side of lift pump) its OK and when I fitted my fuel system with CAV filters I think I used standard BSP fittings on the top the fuel inlet/outlet are some non standard fittings if I remember correctly.

It is a bit confusing. I reckon I could strip & rebuild my Beta engine with 3 sizes of spanner, but the CAV fuel filter needed 5 different spanners.
The engineer at my boatyard reckons he has a box of mixed connectors, just keep trying until one fits!
