Need to replace the locking hinges on our heavy cockpit table - the ones from B&Q have already rusted through and weren't man enough anyway.

Anyone know of a source of quality brass fittings ?

Timage can be very helpful and not too expensive if you catch them on the right day. Being in Braintree they are not that far away from Davey in Colchester.

Brass fittings in the cockpit.

Just a thought:-

Brass will probably loose the zinc & go yuck after a couple of years if the cockpit table is always outside. (Remember a 'Manganese Bronze' prop is just made of High Tensile Brass, and that's a lot thicker than the hinges will be, so brass hinges won't last too long.)

May I suggest bronze or stainless instead unless you're going to sell the boat in the next few years.

Regards

Richard.
