Hi,

I need a new bow roller (just the roller, not the fitting) for my UFO34 and think I can obtain the roller itself without too much trouble. However I also want to fit a sleeve for the roller to rotate around rather then just have it turn on the retaining bolt. The reason for this is that the side cheeks of the fitting bend in a bit when the bolt is secured and this jams the roller. Ideally I'd like a short length of mirror polished 16 stainless tube with a 10mm bore and a wall thickness of around 3mm or so, but where on earth can such a thing be found does anyone know ?

Thanks,

Boo2

If I needed something like that I would approach one of the small local engineering forms to produce it to my rough drawings. I've had bits made up like that. A;; you need to do is find a small firm locally.

We have found alkathene pipe to be very effective as a water lubricated bearing for net haulers, I expect you could easily find off the shelf plastic/acetyl etc tube.

Or perhaps you could be considering a self locking nut , or staking a normal nut short of tightening it fully against the side cheeks of the stem head fitting.

A 'top hat bush' in each side of the roller worked for me.
The bolt won't bend if it's loaded at the edges.
