Source for 1980\'s Stanchion Bases?

The stanchion bases on my 1985 Jouet760 are in need of replacing and I am hunting for replacements.

The bases are of a cast alloy type, sited on the toe rail. The base is square, and overlaps the edge of the toe rail, stepped to ensure good contact with both the deck and the toe rail. Hole centres look to be imperial at 2 1/2" on the outer edge, and 2 1/4 for the deck holes, and the stanchion itself 1".
It seems unlikely that Yachting France had these specially made; I am sure I have seen the same on similarly aged vessels. My ideal would be to find exact replacements for these but I have as yet been unable to find anything even remotely similar. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Sounds similar to Gibsea kit.

If so try Adrian Hood at Eurospars.

Gibsea stanchion bases Sparcraft part no.
5000150000

And don't nick the lot 'cos I might want some more.

May be Isomat: a now defunct French manufacturer. The only source I know of & have used is Rig-Rite in USA: www.rigrite.com It has a good online catalogue.

I got some that sound similar to yours from a Beneteau dealer a couple of years ago for a 1988 First 305

Re: Source for 1980\'s Stanchion Bases?

Try the standard HOLT ones - fitted on many UK yachts and may have been fitted to EU boats as well. Most chandleries can get them. Part No YS47-20 I've tried the Holtallen website but can't find it...... Originally made by YS fittings who were taken over by Holt. The original website is not working.

Thanks everyone for your comments, I have spoken with Eurospars, the Gibsea bases do not sound right, but I will be sending them these photos to check...

I know that this is an extremely old post but wondering if you found any joy locating a replacement base for the Jouet 760 as I have exactly the same requirement.

Re: Source for 1980\'s Stanchion Bases?

Had the same problem on my Jouet 950. Couldn't source exact replacements. Ended up having hard wood bases made with a recess on the base to fit over the toe rail. Has worked very well.

Maybe something here?

Stanchion Bases - Stainless Steel - Rig-Rite Inc.
www.rigrite.com/Hardware/Stanchions_&_Bases/Stanchion_Bases_SS.php

In addition to the Economy SS Stanchion Bases listed above, Rig-Rite stocks a variety of Custom SS Stanchion Bases made to original specifications for direct replacement applications. Replacement SS Stanchion Bases are listed by Base shape, Rectangular or Trapezoidal, and separately if they attach to the Toerail.
Missing: 1985 ‎jouet760
