Sounds an expensive noise.

I forgot to lower my Bravo 3 leg from its trailering position today (was trying to clean off some algae) and started the engine. A loud metallic scraping noise started so i immediately switch off the engine.
Lowered the leg and tried it again and the noise had gone so left engine to warm up and then switched it off for an hour.
Before leaving the boat I thought for peace of mind I'll just give it another restart but it made the same noise and this time the leg was fully down.
Have I damaged something?

Depending on the noise, you might have either damaged the UJ or the gimbal bearings.
