Soundproofing blanket

The post below got me thinking again!! My engine room is very large, soundproofing would cost a bomb.
I was supplied with a sort of 'blanket' with my van soundproofing kit, it seems to work well. This is thick and heavy and appears to have lead in it.
Would this be much use on the boat? any experience?
Ive sold the van (and blanket) so cant just try it without buying another.

Can't help with the blanket, but one recommendation for large engine rooms is to box and soundproof the engine(s).

Thanks guys, will check out the price of the lanrover blanket.
I had thought to box but this would compromise the space around the engine and I think I would be lifting the box on and off all the time, still an option though.
