can someone please shoot paul burrell
i am no lover of the royal family. i donot care who they sleep with or what they do but only object to having to pay to keep them and then find that the media clutters the airwaves with royal reports about all their nonsense.

but this simpering idiot has got my back up
why does he not just shut the hell up or tell everything he claims to know

at one point he claims to be a loyal servant to her memory and then goes hawking his book around every media dropping hints that he knows some great scandal that he can never tell .. or maybe serialise as part of a new book

it has got to the point where the windsors ( strange name for a bunch of germans) actually have my sympathy

rant over

sorry
have been told i cannot go sailing next weekend but have to go visiting friends and
mrs s and i had a bit of barny last night

Solve two problems at once. Paul Burrell for Tory party leader. That'll shut him up.

Weren't they originally the Battenburgs (as my Mum still calls 'em); only changing their name to Windsor prior to the outbreak of war?

Magic

It's all farcical anyway, since the Windsors are descendents of the Hanovarian usurpers of the Stuart throne, and not the rightful royal family of this country. To quote from Jerry Jardine "Most people of the Jacobite persuasion or even those with a passing interest in the subject, consider the present Duke Francis of Bavaria as the rightful King of Scotland, England, Ireland and France, Duke of Cornwall and Rothesay, Baron Renfrew, Lord of the Isles and Great Steward of Scotland. (These are titles currently conferred upon Prince Charles, [so-called] Prince of Wales)" "They refer to him as King Francis II. He styles himself as Hereditary Prince of Bavaria or Duke of Bavaria. This gentleman’s name is Franz Bonaventura Adalbert Maria von Wittelsbach and he was born in Munich in 1933. He is descended from Princess Henrietta Anne, youngest daughter of King James II & VII. This princess was passed over for the succession by the Act of Abjuration enacted by parliament in 1701. His lineage is impeccable and well documented."

Culloden was not the end! We shall rise again! Alba gu brath!

The background of the Stuarts does not matter - Somerled was Norse, and that doesn't affect the Lordship of the Isles. Queen Henrietta Anne was French, and Saint Margaret, Queen of Scotland, was English. By the way, Bretons are fellow Celts.

The fact remains that the Windsors (nee Battenburgs) do not belong on the throne of the Stuarts - we are talking about Divine Right here.

To the man in black, and the memory of the gallant men who fell in the fight to restore his father's throne, and their families, ethinically cleansed and massacred by Hanovarian mercenaries.

Alba gu brath!

I have read that the consensus at the time (1914ish) was that the family name was Saxe-Coburg Gotha, which was changed for obvious reasons.

Battenburg was the made up name of a branch of the Hessians; Louis of Battenburg married a Princess Alice and produced 4 sprogs, the last of which became better known as Lord Louis Mountbatten, Viceroy of India, Chief of the Defence Staff(or whatever it was called then), First Sea Lord of the Admiralty, Admiral of the Fleet, etc. I doubt ol' Louis ever attended a interview for any of these jobs! Louis of Battenburg was First Sea Lord of the Admiralty when WWI started, but popular opinion(the press in other words) forced Lloyd George to ask for his resignation because he had a german accent and a funny name; Jackie Fisher got the job, but he and Churchill hated each other and never cooperated, so the Dardanelles/Gallipoli happened and then they both got the boot.

Cheers,
david

Re: Ex Bretons

We of Breton extraction (yup it is painful) are going to be starting a republican drive on the grounds of cruelty to Aristos of dubious international descent.. just look at how miserable they are as royalty.. liberate them!
