I cant get my eberspacher timer to work on timer:its the two button digital type, off a bt van.i can turn it on and off manually, but how do i get it to work on timer? one button has a clock and a p on, the other a + and a heater symbol.
I've tried all the links on here with no success, so any help is much appreciated!!!

Ian,
Sounds like my timer. main drawback is it only runs for 1 hour. The timer just gives you one start time.
I can give you more info but need to look at mine to refresh the brain cells.Probably someone else will have better recall than me (or....a manual!!)

Re: sorry, Eberspächer timer question!!!

If it is off a BT van then it is not a timer to say start the heater at 1800 and shut down at 2100. It is to limit the time the heater can be turned on.

BT fitted these to prevent the crew staying in the half the morning supping tea.

You can bypass the timer quite simply to allow continual operation.

I have a diagram for this somewhere, I will have a hunt for it!

Re: sorry, Eberspächer timer question!!!

thank's for the replies: i was expecting to get shot down and told to look at previous posts!!!!
peter: if you can find out how to turn it on automatically it'd be a big help.

Actually all you need to know is it won't work until you have set the time, any time, doesen't have to be the right time. After putting power on the display will blink. Set time by holding down one button and pressing the other. Once you have stopped it blinking and set a time, pressing the one with the heater symbol will start the burner. It will run for one hour and then switch off unless you hit the heater button again when it will go through it's shutdown sequence. If you want it to run for more than an hour you have to wait until it turns off and then turn it on again. Good if you only want hot water. Bad if you are heating the boat!

This was done before I got my heater, but I was told how he did it, you need to remove the timer and fit the yellow wire to pin 6 as above.

This way, you can have heat on all evening, seems daft to leave it in place if you ask me.

Re: sorry, Eberspächer timer question!!!

then what is the timer connected to? The timer does not control heat, as far as I knew?

Also have a thermostat diagram >
