Sonic outdrive Information Please

Can anyone offer some information on Sonic outdrives. I am familiar with Enfield outdrives and have the opportunity to fit a Sonic leg, which I am led to believe is similar, whilst my Enfield leg is overhauled. Is this feasible? the engine is a BMC 2.5 diesel. (Now up and running following advice from this forum, Thanks.)

Had a Sonic leg on my old Prout. Good system though I didnt enjoy being talked down to by Silette.

I always thought that Sonic was the old Enfield leg re-named but I do not know for sure. Certainly, unless this is the case and the fitting is identical, I cant see the sense in a temporary substitute. There may well be more work in fitting the socic leg than in re-furbing the Enfield

Talk to Silette who will certainly know.

Sillette was set up by two men made redundant from Enfield when they closed (changed owners?). I always found them very helpfull and knowledgable. They were the only people to recognise that my leg was a Perkins and not an Enfield. The original design had been by Perkins.
As already said talk to Sillette.

Thank you all for your help. I had tried Sillette but they are at Cowes this week. I thought that units were similar, but I think I will opt for overhauling my Enfield unit. Regards, Lucan.
