Somewhere to go?

We will be driving down from Glasgow to Fishguard to get a Ferry to Rosslare in july but want to go down a few days before we are due to get the ferry and would like advice on a nice sea side area withen a few hours drive of Fishguard to stay for those few days, somewhere that has pleasent beaches and descent b&b/food etc.
Any suggestions please?

Harbour hotel Aberaeron . Excellent food , accomadation and view . Lots of nice beaches SE of Solva on the Pembroke coast path .

I would suggest New Quay (not the one in Cornwall!). There are regularly dolphins playing in the bay and they come right up to the shore. You can also go in the very nice yacht club for a drink where the are very friendly.

Had a week down there in a self catering cottage a couple of years ago and had great fun playing with the Enterprise on the sea. Would steer clear of the big industrial caravan park though - easy to do.
