Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

I don't know if anyone could translate the following for me. It's something SWMBO said to me as we were getting up this morning. The conversation was about our plans for next weekend and the fact that she wont be coming sailing on the saturday because she has a craft fair.

[ QUOTE ]
"perhaps sometimes it would be nice to do Fionaish things instead of Georgish things"

[/ QUOTE ]

Any ideas anyone?

I think it means "OK, you can go away on your own this time but (insert threat here) if you don't do what I want to next time".

I can lend you a set of paints and a macrame kit before the next craft fair.

Nothing to worry about unless your name isnt George. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I didn't have you down as a Fiona .... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yep, total gibberish as someone pointed out....

Next time just pat her on the head and say 'Yes, dear. of course'......

They usually toddle off with a vague smile on their face at that point...

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

Hence the reason why we organise a sailing schedule at the start of each season, all weekends divided into 1 of 3 categories, roughly equal in number.

1/3 weekends "George" + "Fiona" on boat = George things
1/3 weekends "George" + other crew on boat = George does his thing, Fiona does her thing
1/3 weekends "George" + "Fiona" do something non-boaty = sometimes Fiona things, sometimes other family commitments

Saves a lot of arguments over how much time is spent "making the most of the investment in the boat" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Weekend 'trades' are negotiable depending on weather / family crises / availability of other crew etc

My deepest sympathy, craft fair, yawn, yawn. I'd rather antifoul the boat!

I think those who say it's gibberish have their heads in the sand.

She obviously wants to be allowed to go off and do her own Fionaish activities, whilst you go off and do your own Georgish things. At other times she will be delighted to come and do Georgish things.

If you do get dragged along to a craft fair, find the most attractive stall holder there (female) and spend all the time talking to her.
Your other half will not like this and Fionaish things will be off the menu for you my lad.

So true...I think I'd rather antifoul your boat too...

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

Not a bad idea , but what happens if you take her to do Georgish things and she decides to do the same ? , we have a different remedy here , we both decide what we're going to do and if it happens to mean the boats get worked on we both do it , but then she's not into craft fairs or any of that rubbish and prefers my company to that of a load of artie crafty types /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

All I am getting is blah blah blah blah GEORGE

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

With one weekend in three off I thought sailng would be severly limited until SWMBO said 'We can't go sailing every weekend you're off so why don't you go on your own on your week days off?

She really is one in a million. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
