Got a call from the Marina yesterday, someone reported damaging my boat! As we are not in Majorca, I got the local Fairline guy to take a look for me, who told me that two of the stainless steel stanchions had been pulled out and the structure bent, as well as damage to the GRP down the starboard side of the boat.

Turns out a Yacht caught my boat with its Anchor, that and a bit - but in fairness they did report it to the harbourmaster.

So we were looking forward to our slightly longer break in July for our first year of Med boating, but it seems like we may have to get the boat sorted first.

The Fairline guys reckon it will take a bit of repair, plus the boat needs checking for any other structrual damage, so we will have to put up with it until we can get it fixed.

What a bummer! Last trip out was storms in June, and for July we have a bumped boat!

Anyway just thought I would share it with you, not the biggest deal, but still a little bit upsetting. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hopefully I will get the insurance kicked off tomorrow, the guys that hit my boat are still around for a couple more days, its just frustrating not being able to get out and sort it quickly.

Hey Ho!

Martyn

Sorry to hear that Martyn, especially as I know you were really looking forward to it. Let's hope it's only superficial and they sort it FAST.

Keep us posted.

That's really bad news. At least they had the decency to own up! I hate it when my mobile goes and its Greece - always been the engineer ringing to say everything is ok and he has run the engines, but it still sends a bit of a chill through me...

V sorry to hear that Martyn but its good that the culprits are known. Whats the timescale on repairs? If you've got any probs finding repairers, PM me as I've got a contact in Alcudia who might be able to help

Oh -sh**!

Bad news indeed!

My mate had similar last year on the mainland - although the party owned up the hassle was huge. In the end my chums insurers sorted it out and dealt with the local 'hitter' after the event.

Trust you get it fixed properly and fast.

Sorry to hear that, but same happened to me in SoF. A Mr. Barrett (son of the builder) hit my boat with his Azimut. Bent the rails, etc.
It was a genuine accident, he was very open about it and paid for all the damage. Nice bloke and it was all sorted quite easily.

Bad luck Martyn but good that they owned up.
A temp repair will keep you going so that you can enjoy your break.
Our C39 was damaged last year and the culprit done a runner. It still make me mad when I think about it.
