Don't know if its me but there seems to be a post every once in a while giving reports of bad service from companies and the like. Well I'm gonna buck the trend a bit. I purchased a H/H VHF from MES LTD via their website. Thought nothing else of it 'till next day when I got in from work. There on the mat was a card from the carrier saying "you were'nt in". This was the friday so couldn't get hold of them till monday. They said not to worry its out for redelivery and they'll leave it with next door. So the carrier got it all sorted and contacted driver etc. Good service #1.

To my dismay the H/Hhad a fault. So phoned MES yesterday and told 'em about it. "No probs" said they "just send back the main body of it and oh heres the free post address"
So off it went yesterday. Phoned them today and asked if it got there ok. "yep" said they "and your replacement will be with you tomorrow"
What more can you ask. Not only do they act quickly to get things sorted, but they also make sure that you don't have to pay any additional postage costs. You can't really ask more than that. Especially when all I spent with them was under a 100 quid.

Makes a nice change from all the doom and gloom. I can recommend MES to anyone who's after any electronics. Well done chaps, keep it up and thanks.

Assuming that you mean MES Ltd in Bristol. Can't help but agree!

It's always worth visiting their Marine Electronics Show in October (NEC Birmingham this year) as it is purely Electronics and you can get some good deals.

Thanks Barry their web site looks good, I am in the market for a radar, and have just emailed them to ask if they ship abroad. Have not yet compared their prices, but I assume you did ?

they are pretty sharp on price and respond to the market quickly as well. on top of that they can occasionally have some excellent specials - the reconditioned Garmin HH Plotters at the end of last year were an example.
I bought a Garmin chart last time we thought we were going to have the weather for a weekend to the CIs - chart arrived in time as promised, weather didn't! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

They got pretty shirty with me last year when I phoned to ask for price of Garmin 176c. When they told me, I said no thanks, can do much better elsewhere. They asked what price I'd been given, told me I couldn't possibly be correct, as they were main agents, and they couldn't buy them at that price.

I insisted I was right, they insisted I couldn't possibly be. Gave them the telephone number in the end so they could check it out for themselves, then went back to cheaper quote and bought it from there with excellent service (who confirmed they just taken a phone call enquiring about price of 176c)

Not impressed frankly, though I'd give them a second chance if I needed something and they were genuinely cheaper

The replacement arrived early this morning. Most impressed with that, but not being woken by the cheer'iest of postman at god knows what hour after a night of drinking.
