buzzed by this in soton water today, it was very big, very fast, had a huge rooster but left very little wake. Poor picturey as I only had my blackberry.
there really wasn't. Take a look at the second and third photos, behind the rooster there's next to nothing, I didn't even feel it go by. A similarly sized squadron or something gets me airbourne.
Rooster is surface drives. It has 2x man1360s, which is a lot of power for that sized boat. Lack of wake is (I guess) cos it was going very fast in those pics, cos much of the hull is out of the water, right back to the stern. The black bottom is all underwater antifoul, I mean the bottom back/silver interface is the waterline, so you can see how much hull isn't in the water (compared with say my avatar, where I'm ploughing quite a big wake in a slower boat of same length approx). Book top speed is 48kts, sheesh
Are you sitting down? Pershing command a very big price premium over the competition. List price on one of those new is something like €1.7-1.8mill, so say £1.5-1.6mill sterling. Dunno what deal is avaialbe on that UK stock boat but I know one Ferretti group dealer in the Med is inviting offers at about 30% off one of their paid for stock boats, just to shift it ( a 68 footer) cos the market is slow. So you might get that one for a snip at £1.2mill
We passed her twice today (we were going in the opposite direction I hasten to add!) As we were leaving the Hamble, she was coming in and we passed just opposite The Rising Sun pub. We had a flit over to The Folly, a blast back down Southampton Water, and then came back into the Hamble, and she passed us again at practically the same point as previously! She appeared to be on charter today - plenty of suits on board, enjoying the hospitality!
