Someone must know the answer

Problem - 12 volt ventilation of boat during winter lay-up.
Idea - wind generator (already have) makes electricity, drives 12 volt (Hella) fan.
Question - will the fan burn out in gales, ie periods of high 'charge' - would small 30amp/hour battery or shunt provide 'buffer' or will they get cooked too.
All wind.gen makers 'duck' the question!

Cant answer your question. But really you need heat and dehumidifier. Suppose a bit of a blow might help. But what about the wind chill factor!!

There ain't no way a wind gennie will cook the battery. Go ahead and use it as a buffer. OK! OK! I know I am the world's worst engineer but its logical that a wind gennie would never maintain enough constant input to cook a battery.

Umm call me dense if you want, but arn't those wind gennies designed to charge and keep batteries topped up!

If its one of those Aerogen things and its the same as mine. It should have a little box of tricks that contains a regulator and whizzy stuff to control the charge.
