People advertise in Private Eye (or used to) for free cars, house renovation costs, funds to get through University, free holidays accomodation or just money. Sometimes they got what they asked for

Old Aston Martin needs funds for renovation to preserve the historical vehicle for the pleasure of all err... and then 5K per year to keep the troublesome, rotting thing on the road!

A friend of mine spent 25K on an Aston Martin engine rebuild alone, the cars only worth 30K in the first place (a less desireable 80's example, he blew a piston racing Porches down to Le-Mans, he's a banker so don't feel to sorry for him!)

I like the idea that the lack of a good engine, windvane or self tailing winches will be a 'deal' breaker.
