Last weekend we arranged a "lift" with the new coastguard helicopter (now that India Juliet and Whiskey Bravo have gone).
Below are some photos. The weather was spot-on and it really was the icing on the cake for an excellent day on the Solent....
1) Just before "Coastguard 104" arrived, we were all prepared....Grandma and Grandson with his ear detectors on!
2) Here it comes....my approximate bearing was enough to have them on top of us in less than a minute
3) Now in nice and close
4) Check out the "wash" from the copter. With the lack of wind, we had to make 18 knots or so to avoid being drenched.
5) Looks like they're enjoying it!
6) Now where did this man suddenly come from?
7) I know, I'll chew on the seat until he's gone!
8) I think we're all exhausted from that experience, but no need to look so glum!
