Here are a rather motley set of photos of a few slightly 'different' motor boats here :

The first is a 'stretched' Princess 38 - they also appear to have lowered the freeboard in way of the cockpit, I presume to make it easier to land big fish. I think she looks much better like this, when compared to how she was before.

The next two are of a Buddy Davis sportsfisherman from the USA - her current owner also stretched her a few years ago by 3' and carried out a major re-fit at the same time, including two new MAN 800 hp diesels to replace the old GM's, and new shafts , struts and props as well.

How do you like that flare on the bow?

Here is a steel power cat that was built in Trinidad recently by a pal of mine - he intends to use her commercially for day charters, taking up to 150 passengers on drinks / lunch cruises and private parties. Although realistically I think they will stick to a maximum of perhaps 80 or so.

And yes, he has got lifejackets for all the passengers on board......

There is a dodgy looking birchwood 34 in port St Charles as well...And in Falmouth (Antigua) there is what looks like a brand new Fairline 40, the one with the big port hole windows. They are all probably 20 years old but look like new? must be the weather...

Or maybe somebody is looking after them properly...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think I know which Birchwood you mean. There are some interesting legends about her Owner......

'Heart Attack' (the Princess 38, now about 41?) shown above was probably built in the early 80's, but she looks like a shiny penny now after her last re-fit when they 'stretched' her.
(How can anybody call a boat 'Heart Attack'?)
