Some advice please

I am asking on behalf of a friend who is considering a quick trip from Hythe to Cherbourg and back in a modern 33 foot sloop. How long should he tell the marinamaster he expects to be away?

I would say that at least one week would be prudent. Also advise Capitainerie to be on stand by for repeat visit and book provisional berths in most Dorset harbours.

ps. Maybe buy a few Dodgers "R" Us shares ahead of departure.

Does your friend intend to skip work on Monday.. if so this would increase the ETA back in Hythe..

Also how long is your friend intending to allow "off watch" for the skipper?
