Having made a sloppy job of gluing pads to my RIB tubes I need a solvent for removing the cured contact adhesive that won't melt the tube fabric. (Not sure whether it's Hypalon or PVC, suspect the latter).
All sarky and sensible suggestions welcomed!

[/ QUOTE ] The solvent will depend upon the material I would guess. Presumably you know what the material is in order to use the correct adhesive.

Looks like the solvent/cleaner for both contain butanone though.

shifting cured adhesive may not be easy!

You might try Polymarine
At least there is a table of fabrics vs maker on the Tech advice tab

MEK (aka butanone) for PVC adhesive then and toluene for Hypalon adhesive. Might take a bit of time to soften fully cured adhesive. Be cautious with MEK on PVC. I think it might soften the PVC a bit.

Glad you survived!

There was a steel yacht in the same boatyard as us. Had a fire on board, apparently quite fierce - eg all the paint and filler blistered and fell off the hull. I gathered the owner'd been using petrol to clean out his bilges.....
