Just come back from Southampton where we saw Mari Cha III and IV in Ocean Village along with the yacht Drumbeat.
Just inside Dockgate 4 (which we managed to sneak through) are Abronomiviishchcs (yeah, him!) gas turbine powered Ecstasea, the yacht Tiara and Leander who is owned by the NCP car park man. Pity I didn't have my camera.

Anybody know who owns Tiara and Drumbeat and when they are all going to be leaving?

They have recently arrived from the Rolex

Drumbeat is the Alloy ketch launched about 2-3 yrs ago, as Salperton. Was sold after being viewed at the Monaco show last September, renamed Drumbeat. Dunno who bought her. Not to be confused with the other Drumbeat, a certain Welsh Squadron 59 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tiara is Alloy's largest sloop I think, 54m, Dubois, launched about 2-3yrs ago. I've been aboard her. Nuthin special build quality wise. Only sailboat to have helicopter land facility. Has been seriously for sale since last autumn. Owned by Jonathan Leitersdorf, an israeli architect cum private equity/property investor. Much could be said about him but I wont here, ahem. Tiara was chartered for the Rolex race, not sure who was sailing her

Mari-Cha IV is Robert Miller's state of the art maxi racer schooner

Abramovich's Ecstasea has been back at Feadship for months, officially for accommodation rework, but generally thought to be for big gas turbine installation fixing work. Must be back in commission

I thought the Rolex fleet was meant to be around till mid June ish, with parties etc at Cowes and round the island race 13 June

Pretty unprecedented to get so many superyachts in Solent

Talking of which, has anyone heard from Gludy? I know it's poss a bit unfashionable hereabouts but I always reckoned him to be a valued contributor to this forum.

can't compete with that lot. But richard branson rented a charter boat last week from our ponttoon. Two days later he hoiks up in st tropez for a night as well. Then the next day after that, we're in the restaurant and he pitches up there as well, the pesky bloody shortarse was obviously following me around...

Water shortage

Drumbeat is only staying 1 week, it took the crew all day to clean it on Saturday, what do they do when there is a hose pipe ban?

Just got back from week in Solent where we saw Mari-Cha iv anchored just outside Cowes on Thurs PM. Must have moved from there to it's mooring later on. Stunning looking boat.

Re: I saw her too!

We were out this evening calibrating a new George when Ecstasea headed off down Southampton Water. Very impressive and a bit fast, thought they were going to run the Harbour Master (escort) over. Made a wake like an offshore roller.
Drumbeat is owned by Mark Lloyd.
