So here we go on our 1st proper big yacht charter a bav 39 was supposed to be a dufour 34 but they changed it ayt the last minute (more room apperently)
We had a skipper on board as we dont have the necessary qualifications as yet
Slipped the mooring at mercury marina and set off down the hamble under engine at 9.00 am
Passed the last cardinal and motored into wind to hoist the main and genoa for a most pleasant cruise up southampton water to the container port sailing close hauled and tacking across all the way
About lunch time we turned for a run back down to our port of call for the night Cowes
We had a cracking sail across the water past bramble bank and even moored up ok with out a bow thruster
The next day sunday we had a lot more wind and set off for a sail into newtown creek another close haul up there it was a lot colder and the wind was appprox 20 knts
Then a turn at newtown for a run back downwind peaking at 8 knts Jake seemed to get the hang of it
