Can anyone tell me more about Sole marine diesels? There's one in a boat I'm considering but I've never heard of them before. Apparently they are "well known engines" (broker)!

I'm sure the newer ones are Mitsubishis marinised in Spain.

I have a sole 48 - I don't deal with the UK agents as I found them to be unreliable -I go straight to Sole for spare parts - they speak English and have always delivered when they said they would and provided an excellent service.
Unlike certain English agents who held on to my money for 3 months and it was only when I contacted Sole that I found they had put a 'stop' on the agent's account for not paying their bills. When Sole found out about my issue with the agent they imediately delivered my order
In the 6 years I have had the boat I have found the engine to be very reliable apart from a gear box problem which meant the gear box needed replacing /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks. How does it run, compared to a nice smooth Yanmah for instance? I've heard they are a bit rough.
