Sole lifting catches

At the EC boat show, there was a sailing boat on display that boasted the best part of a teak forest above and below decks. Maybe it was a Hanse. The salesman revealed that the basic boat was built in Thailand and the fitting out completed in Holland.

Which is one hell of a long preamble for something simple!

The sole was secured with latches that accepted a few fingers and having been lifted could then be turned to release a latch.

Anybody any idea where they can be obtained please? I can't find anything similar from ECS and the like.

Another point of view.

Such latches can be turned and lifted by anyone who steps aboard- if this creates a security problem then may I suggest you use machine screws with aviation style security heads, e.g cowlip or trefoil but NOT pin hex heads(Maplin sell removal tools which will overcome these with ease)

It depends what you have down there, on a Halmatic 30 the sole hatch gives access to the batteries and rear of the engine, so I suppose an enterprising thief could nick my batteries if he troubled to get in there.

You may have been looking at the Hans Christian 41. If so try doing a google and you will find more information than you can shake a Teak stick at!
