Morning,
I’m ordering some service parts for the Mini 17. However, the £16.20 courier charge quoted by Engines Plus is extortionate and unjustifiable. They are the main distributors and therefore, customers are limited in exploring the competition.

Any ideas of any alternatives that would be suitable?

You could try the Dutch firm DieselDoktor but I have no idea how their delivery charges compare.

IRRC the base engine is a Mitsubishi. Diamond Diesels may be able to help.

When ordering some small parts for my Yanmar engines the two main UK agents did not have any stock and were the most expensive and wanted to add postage on top.
Ordered the parts from a company on the IOM who were not only cheaper but included the P&P and bits turned up only 24 hours later.

Thanks for the info. I had found some distributors in the EU. However, cost of parts are a bit more expensive and postage would be an additional cost.
I’ll check with Dimond Diesel.

If they were to waiver postage costs for orders over £100 this would be more acceptable. At the moment the cost of postage can be more expensive than some of the parts!

I have a Mini 34 and, depending on the parts you want to order, there may be non-OEM patterns available. I don't use Sole oil filters at €25 a pop, I get mine from inline filters.
