I have 4 x 120 watt panels wired via a MPPT controller to 12 x 2 volt batteries (24 VOLTS) Also we have a Victron. The positive lead from the MPPT is fused to the battery. The fuse holder very often gets very hot and will sometimes melt I have doubled up the rating of the positive wire but still get the same problem, but not all the time we can go for weeks with no problem then I might get it happening 3 days running. Is there some conflict between the Victron (when charging) and the Solar battery cable? HELP BEFORE I GET A FIRE!!

It needs resistance to cause heat.
If the feed wire isn't getting hot then the fuse holder isn't making good enough contact to the fuse so change the type of holder to one that has a mechanical rather than a pressure connection.
