Any suggestions as to where I could get this solar panel repaired? It is beyond my soldering abilities. Also opinions on economic viability welcomed - I can get a new panel for £120.

I have fixed a panel with similar problems myself. I ground away (using a Dremel copy with sandpaper wheel) the plastic coating over the conductor strips to get a significant area of conductor exposed. The conductors are tinned copper, very easy to solder to. All was then coated liberally with epoxy. It lasted more than one (but less than two) season. Then water got in. This winter, the treatment was repeated and several coats of Dampstart have been added to try for longer service.

This definitely looks like a place for using a soldering gun. You want to be able to get the heat in fast, because the copper conductor will soon soak it away. I got a 100W gun cheaply at Lidl a while back.

Its cream crackered.
You might be able to make some sort of repair but unless your soldering and other repair skills are pretty good it'll most likely only be a temporary fix.

If a reliable solar panel is important to you replace it with a new one.

I doubt if anyone would be prepared to repair it commercially .

Thanks for input. I will try a local TV repair place to see if they can solder the electrics if I do the sealing side of things.
