We stayed in this village for one night recently, having had the "Octopus" restaurant recommended to us by several others..although we were warned that it was expensive. The restaurant owns the jetty as is common in these parts.
We had one nights parking, electricity, water ,internet access ,(we don't have a wifi thingy) sumptious toilets & showers, and a beautifully presented and delicious meal(2 starters,2 mains 1 pud 1 coffee 2 beers ) for the total sum of 65 ytl (about £30.) Excellent value.

Is the Octopus easily identified from the water, and what state is the jetty in - lazylines or own anchor?

Its one of my regular stops, always good food, and one of the best jetties. As is normal round that coast they have lazy lines. The jetty itself is concrete and one of the strongest restaurant jetties you will find. It is a single sided jetty, effectively. As you approach it, go to port, as the other side is too shallow for anything but small boats, but good for a swim. It is easy to identify, and found by turning to port after entering Sogut bay. Sogut village is at the top of a hill, and there are two built areas at the waterside, separated by a headland. The Octopus is in the northern bay, together with another small restaurant with a short jetty which was installed in 2010. The southern bay has a hotel/restaurant which also has a jetty, usable by about four boats.

I have a feeling that you may in fact be one of the "Several Others". If so,thanks for the tip.

Is that the jetty with two distinct bends in it - ie it curves round to semi-enclose the shallow area on the rhs?
