SOF Weather -WTF!

Currently sitting on the boat in Beaulieu having been away since 4 watching cell after cell of thunderstorms roll through. Some have been very impressive with lots of lightning and thunder, but I'm not sure this we'll keep us occupied for the day.

The past week has certainly had its fair share of F4 plus winds and steep choppy seas. Not great boating weather and we haven't travelled too far.

Still the plus side is where we have travelled to have been great and my tan is coming along very nicely.

Now for the next week can I please have F2/3 winds and slight seas.

Was coming into Barcelona a few days ago (up on the fly because of poor viz) being pelted with hail amid the thunder and lightning. Not many other boats out that day...

Yep pretty spectacular rain and lightening in the early hours mcanderson! Warm and sunny now though

St.Cyprien yesterday - blowing old boots from the South but hot and sunny - last time I tried it when it was like this did about half a mile, got thoroughly soaked so came back in for lunch tied to the pontoon! Had a make-do-and-mend day whipping warps then another pleasant lunch in the cockpit and a snooze ... temp 27 so very pleasant. Pontoon in a sheltered part of the marina whatever the wind's doing! Last 3 weeks generally has been mixed with some cold nights and rainy days but average daily temps now about 28. Have turned the swimming pool temp up 2 degrees! Off to Italy touring for 4 weeks so I hope it stays nice!

Nicematin reports that 1 month of rainfall in two hours.

Still waiting on the sun, but dry and warming up. A great natural fireworks display I have to say!

50km NW of here (Montpellier) they had 300mm of rain in just over 4 hours
