Having no luck in deciding on somewhere to permanently mount rigid solar panels, I'm considering getting a folding 100 or 150W suitcase type pair of panels I can bring up on deck while at anchor and position optimally. Any recommendations for a panel-mount socket type I can fit in the cockpit to plug it in to that would happily accept an optimistic 10+ amps? Not really familiar with MC4 connectors but they look a little sticky-outy for panel mounting. The panels come with crocodile clips, so those will obviously be snipped off.

Driplugs are rated at 10 amps. One of those would be my choice for a panel up to around 150W

+1 for Driplug. That's exactly my setup for a flexible solar panel. Make sure you have a lead long enough to allow you to position the panel in a number of different locations depending on where the sun is etc.
