You only need to clean a boat when it's sparkling new. that way people come up and say gosh what a lovely sparkling boat wow, and praps you can make new friends and/or at least show off a bit.
When it's old, of course it's a dead loss, cos that new boat over there will always look better than yours. You can either try the heavy chemical route, and praps rub a mild acid at it. or the heavy mechanical route, and zoom away with cutting, buffing, polishers more polishers and so on.
Best thing I reckon wd be to have a massive cover over the entire boat from new, when not in use. Or just drive it about and stuff the cleaning till september?
I think there's a mobile cleaning mob called GRProclean, or something. Haven't used them myself, but a friend saw them in action and said it looked good...
Thanks for the advice lads i'll get the T- Cut out & see how i get on ! anyone in Brighton this weekend fancies a bonding weekend polishing a Princess 35. One volunteer is better than ten pressed men ! don't be shy free beer!
I shall be in Brighton doing the same thing to my new baby. 1200 grade wet and dry with plenty of soap to remove the old names the huge amounts of Tcut, compound and polish. all mixed with a generous helping of effort should do the trick.
